His Excellency the president of the republic of Kenya Hon. Mwai Kibaki will on 27th February 2009 be the guest of honor in the official opening of Luther plaza. Luther Plaza is a modern and magnificent architectural build in the Evangelical Lutheran Church compound at the junction of the university way and Uhuru Highway.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in
Kenya has attained a major milestone by putting up the new building. This plaza
next to the Central Park in Nairobi will serve as an office complex for
own use and letting, firmly putting the Church on the path to becoming
self-dependent. Like most Christian churches with roots in the West, ELCK has
to a large extent been reliant upon financial support from sister organizations
outside Africa.

Rev. Dr walther Obare Omwanza the Arch Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya (ELCK) addressed pastors conference of LCMS Nebraska District on 26th October 2008. The Bishop was accompanied by the General Secretary of the church Rev. John Halake. Bishop Obare has been accused of arrogance and being a black wolves in Europe for his defense of the biblical stand. Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya recently celebrated her 60 years since it was founded in Kenya by the Swedish mission group. As a spokesman of the church Bishop Obare has stood for the true Lutheranism as seen by Dr. Luther. The following is his full speech in Nabraska State USA.
